I have a '92 SHO, and whenever I slow down, going about 10 mph, there's a vibration coming from the passenger side, rear tire, or around there at least.

Any thoughts on what it can be?

Thanks!

If it is actually coming from the rear wheel, then it could be worn wheel bearings, a warped or damaged brake rotor, a bent wheel, a bad tire or very worn upper strut mount. You'll just have to take a closer look to eliminate some of these possibilities.

As Scott said, eliminate each item one by one. Try jacking the car up, spin the wheel by hand. Look for a wobble in the wheel (it helps a lot if the wheel is very clean as dirt can make the tire look like it's wobbling when it turns). Listen to the bearings, they'll sound rough if they're bad. When my rear bearings went, when I'd spin the wheel slowly, I could hear the bearings inside fall down on one another as the tire spun. Obviously this was a "worst case scenario". Listen to see if the rotor is scraping as it turns. The rotor scraping will sound like a rhythmic "scrape, scrape, scrape" as the tire spins faster. Often times you can narrow it down more easily just by using your eyes and ears.

I jacked up the car today and spun the tire to check for a broken bearing, or a warped rotor. I couldnt hear any bearings as sdpatt describled.

But I can hear what seems to be the pad touching the rotor. I can spin the wheel, but there is slight resistant, is this ok? Other then that it seemed like the tire was ok, and so is the rim.

So am I supposed to be able to spin the tire with no resistance?

Thanks!
