Ben,

GOSHO89 is right, but it is Echlin (ek lin). Echlin has been making top quality electronic parts since the days of the Model A Ford. NAPA, and other quality parts stores, carries their brand of parts. rangerj

That's not the VSS.

The VSS is the sensor on the output of the transmission that provides output shaft rotational speed (consequently vehicle speed) to the computer.

Is that $17.88 a good price for it from CheckerAuto.com? CarParts.com has two:

Vehicle Speed Sensor, w/Dealer Installed Cruise Control; SHO Listing
Brand: BORG WARNER S8053
$36.18

Speed Sensor, ; SHO SERIES
Brand: STANDARD SC46
$23.48

Why the big diff in price?

My advice is to get the motorcraft one from fordpartsnetwork.com. I got one from Autozone and they gave me one for a GL and now my sho shifts at 2200 rpms all the time. There is a "tranny code" inside the door jam that you should get when ordering it too.

What does fordpartsnetwork.com call it? I can find a "Turbine Speed Sensor" listed under the "Automatic Transaxle - Axod, Axod-e, Ax4S" section. But I don't find anything that sounds right under the "ATX" section. Help!
