I have a 97v8 that's got a coolant leak. The problem stems from the coolant bypass hose that exits the oil cooler to the engine block. My original busted and the genaric GM hose I have on just doesn't quite work. At low temps the car doesn't **** everywhere but high temps or highway driving the entire recovery tank drains. One, I need the ford part number for that hose and two, how else can I fix it? Does anyone know its dimensions so I could possible make my own? I gotta get this thing done soon as im switching duty stations soon. Thank you for any help.- Alaric

I took my old hose up to an auto parts store and they were able to match it up with one that had the same bend in it, only longer. The Ford part I'm pretty sure is obsolete. Once the hose was cut down, it resembled the SHO one perfectly. Done that to 3 V-8 SHOs and it worked everytime. Might as well check and see if oil is leaking there too. Its a notorius spot for oil leaks also. Hoep this helps.

Done that a couple times too. Just went behind the counter at the local AutoZone and went up and down the hose aisle until I found one with a similar form.

I'm pretty sure the one I've used is made for a Subaru when you check the part #. I'll see if I can find that # when I get home from work today.

You might want to bring in BOTH hoses from the cooler. The non-failed one can't be in much better shape. Why not get really dirty only once?

Thanks for the help.what's that part number you ran from zone? readjusted the hose and it seems to be on there really snug. If it arises again then im going to cut it off. Btw, y'all have oil leaking from your oil coolers too? Mines not bad but id hate to have to disassemble it and put proper gas
kets in it.-alaric

I got one form NAPA. But it was a generic hose.

Make sure it is not leaking from the worn out OEM clamps.
