With all the hypr going around here about Tire Rack's top notch service, I thought I'd give them a try. Let me tell you a little about my experience.

As most of you know, I have a 95 SHO with 17" SVT wheels. Had Nitto 555R's on them all around (235/45/17) and after three years they are all cracking and bald so it's time for new tires. I ordered a set of 4 Kuhmo ECSTA MX 235/45/17 from them and paid the extra for 2-day FedEx. That was Wednesday of two weeks ago. The tires arrived on the Friday at my doorstep... Very pleased with that. Upon inspection, there were two 235/45/17 tires and two 245/45/17's. Someone goofed! I called back as soon as I got the tires and they gave me there apologies for the mix up and I was told that two 235/45/17's would be put on the truck thew same day (Friday) and sent out, and I made sure that I get the same two day FedEx. They also scheduled a pick up for the 245's.

Today is Monday of a week later... not a weekend. An entire week has gone by and I'm still left here with two 245's and two 235's. I'll be calling as soon as this message gets posted. I was also promised two R/C cars with my purchase, didn't get those either.

Just thought I'd let you guys know of my experience, had a lot of good feedback on here about Tire Rack but someone has goofed with my order!

Here's an update, I just spent some time on the phone with them, apparently it's not Tire Rack that screwed up my re order, it's UPS. Tire Rack shows my tires as delivered with someone signing thir name that I do not recognize. They must have gone to an incorrect address! This is why I FedEx... not UPS. I am currently on hold while my call Rep from Tire Rack is on the other line with her supervisor and U.P.S. I will repost when I find out more.

U.P.S. shipped the tires to another address here in the city that is not even CLOSE to my address... my address is 181, they were shipped to a 400 address on another street, figure that one out. Now I wait two more days for UPS to pick these tires up from that address and ship to me. At least I'm getting all freight cost refunded.

yes, lookis like someone got free tires, until UPS goes by and gets them back, which I wonder what these people did to them... UPS is supposed to pick them up and deliver them to my house, the CORRECT address... I will not accept them (and I told the rep from Tire Rack this as well) if they are damaged in any way.

sunny San Juan Bautista,
Lol, did Tire Rack hire the monkey that Rockauto fired?

ROFL! Sorry to hear about your problem bro. That sucks. I would be shocked and ****** if that happened to me with tirerack. Not sure if I'd be more shocked or more ******? shrug

I'm just laughing because it sounds so similar to my story. Not sure who's is worse. Damn, tires are a big purchase. I have the means (well sometimes I do. I do now. Probably would have been a struggle at the time) to get another clutch slave cylinder at autozone when they botched my order. Wouldn't have been able to do that with tires.

Still, you might get struck by lightening before that happens again in your future orders from tirerack. I know I'm going to be buying my next set of tires from them (again). If you do the same I bet a six pack of beer you'll get the right order in your 2 days.

I think that's the first time I've ever heard of anyone having a problem with Tire Rack. And from the looks of things, it was UPS, not Tire Rack at fault.
I've had only 100% top notch, above and beyond service from them. thumb

I agree. My next set of tires from them will be my 7th or 8th for several different cars and I've never been disappointed. Great service, very good prices, quick shipping times!

This post started by bashing Tire Rack a bit but when I found out all the facts, I was very pleased with how the Tire Rack handled the situation. Their service is top notch, I agree. The issue here is UPS. So Bizzy, can we change this post to bashing UPS and add me to the Tire Rack thumbs up list? :D boink

I've had bad experiences with UPS before and this just adds to it. To everyone here, FedEx it, Airborne Express it, USPS it, but DON'T UPS it... headbang

UPS is the devil, the DEVIL, you hear me?! :)
Well, I may not have so much against UPS wink , but I think this is a good time for me to recommend this new (I think) FedEx 3-day Express Saver. It comes quickly, and its cheap! thumb
