Has anyone used this kit on an '89?It's a lot
less tha buying them sep.
Will the felpro set allow me to remove and reinstall
the intake?

I'm not at home but I'm assuming that part# is the fel-pro gasket kit? If you get the fel-pro set it will not have new intake manifold gaskets. Not sure if they are dealer only gaskets or not but fordpartsnetwork.com and fordpartsonline.com have them for a little over $12/each-you will need 2.

To remove the intake from the heads all you will need are two of the Motorcraft E9DZ-9439-A from FordPartsOnline.com for $12.14 each or FordPartsNetwork.com for $12.49 each. If you are removing the valve covers, the two valve cover gaskets and the six plug well seals are in the Fel-Pro VS50378R kit for $71.99 from AutoZone.com.

All of the seals mentioned above are designed to be reuseable. The valve cover set should be installed if there is any oil leakage evident in the plug wells or from the exterior of the valve cover mating surface. The intake to head gaskets need to be replaced only if the black finish is chipping off.

Only if you are disassembling the intake for powder coating or other reason, do you need the intake manifold gasket set, the Fel-Pro MS94831 from AutoZone.com for $45.99.

Thanks for the info. Scott.Can you tell me if the
sparkplug tubes are a separatepart from the wire?
I'm going to replace the leads at the same time
I change the gaskets.Only had the car for about six weeks.225k and still running strong!
