Hello Nick, welcome to shoforum.

The problem is that with the sho trannys, the transmission cooler is liquid cooled and not air cooled. Therefore when the core temperature of the engine rises, the ability of the transmission cooler to cool your transmission lessens. The cure is to install an air cooled transmission cooler to keep engine and coolant temperature seperate from the ability to cool the transmission fluid. I had to do that on mine and dropped 2 trannys in a hurry before I learned. Have you flushed the transmission fluid? That may help. Some of your fluid may be "burned up" causing it to not lubricate the transmission case correctly. If these symptoms persist, you may need a transmission rebuild at which point I would install a shift kit to prevent the "soft" shifts that the AXOD trannys are famous for. The shift kits also help lubricate the transmission case better. Good luck.
