I have NEVER had the traction control kick in after pressing the button to turn it off...........UNLESS I am attempting to turn and spin the wheels at the same time. In that instance, the stability control takes over and cuts power. However, when going straight, such as at the drag strip, I have never had traction control cut power......EXCEPT one time when I forgot to turn it off. I suppose that if the track is not well prepped and the car has sufficient power, it could attempt to spin sideways enough to cause the stability control to take over, but I have never had that happen.
So it must only be a 2013+ thing where TC cannot be turned off in non-PP?

Thought I'd post an update on this. Did a three time drain/fill like I said I was going to do. I did one a day for three days. Fluid looked good, felt good and smelled good. I let the first bit go through a coffee filter. Nothing on the filter but a few crumbs from the plug threads. I know this isn't the best fluid test but at this time I'm not sending samples to a lab. I thought about it but didn't look into TSBs like I said I would. It takes a lot of teeth pulling for me to even talk to dealers around here, so last resort. So for the last 2 days I've been trying everything I can think of to make my transmission act funny. Basically driving like a maniac. I can't be afraid to break my car or it will be no fun to drive. The car has been driving strong with zero problems. Shifts are on time on target. I really love the way it drives now with the tune. I am still getting used to the added performance. This is probably why this happened. Not used to added hp/torque and didn't brake launch property, rpm too high. Gotta love how these cars step in and go into self preservation. When I was younger I would tear up cars as fast as I could build them. Again, thanks for the valuable imput from everyone :)

I actually had my car do exactly this when it was new to me... I was showing off with some passengers, hit pedal to the metal, and it went at first but then DIED. Literally zero power. I eased off the gas, then gently applied the gas, and it was fine. I can't say it was due to traction loss, but I do believe for whatever reason the car was designed to do that under certain conditions... like the "limp home mode". It's been 20,000 miles and many drag races since, and it's never reoccurred. It could also be rev hang if you let up when the RPMs were very near the max (search the forum for that one) as I've noticed when in rev hang the throttle doesn't respond as expected... but only for a second. My wife's Escape's Ecoboost does the same exact thing. It's a very peculiar sensation.

My car doesn't do rev hang. I tried doing it on purpose many times to help another forum member with a diagnosis  I do think the car was saving itself from a situation it didn't like. This is a good feature for someone like me. It hasn't acted funny since. I've been testing it, or really just having fun with no problems. Thanks much for the imput:)

I wonder why yours doesn't rev hang like both my EcoBoosts... actually, tbh... I haven't tested it since I dropped in the 4+x 3 bar tune... maybe it's gone now.

Could be related to my tune. I didn't try it with other than the 4+X 3-bar but I could not make it rev hang no matter what.

I think it actually is tune related, tbh... I tried it today for the first time on the new 3Bar tune, and the rev hang seems totally gone. It's definitely a stock behavior though, my wife's Escape (with EcoBoost) does the exact same thing at max RPM that my old tune did. It would seem Livernois eliminated that characteristic (or dramatically minimized it) with the 4+X 3Bar tune.

Mine doesn't rev hang either on the stock tune. I recently got the new turbo installed and haven't switch to the tune to see what happens. But I did try going 65, flooring it until redline, and then letting off right before it shifts, and it drops like normal. It might just be part of the adaptive learning, I don't know.

Don't know what to tell you other than perhaps it is the adaptive learning - my wife's car had the same "issue". Livernois was very firm in their response that it is absolutely 100% normal... plus, I found an engineer's explanation for it, that it is by design to prevent certain types of pollution (something about high RPMs then suddenly nada resulting in increasing some particular emission, can't remember the specifics) so either way I'm not worried.

Bottom line, it's gone with the new tune. My wife's car (also EcoBoost) still does it. In any case, again, not an issue. Just an "observed behavior".

My car did this to me 2 times in the last couple days, trans was prob not warmed up either time. I just put the pedal down from 10mph, and it was like it missed 2nd gear and just revved. Never had it happen before the other day.
