My tranny in my 94 ATX took a dive yesterday and wouldn't shift past 2nd gear no matter what. The funny thing is that I disconnected the battery to change one of my aftermarket amps, and now the thing is shifting again. A buddy of mine said that his did the same thing and it was the puter (D4U1???) like the one that I have in my SHO...

HELPPPP  shrug

I have seen the computer skip the 2 to 3 shift schedule after a failure ( 647, 3rd gear failure) which sometimes occurs with my ATX during a power downshift from 3 to 2. By turning off the car and then back on I would get back the correct shifting schedule. The computer must have various failure modes written into its program that activate with various failures and clear either with key off or power to the computer off. I would really like to get more detail on the computer program and check out these failure modes. Maybe you got a similar problem.
