The other night I left an interior light on in my car and the battery was dead. I had to roll it out in neutral to get it down the drive etc. Jumped the car, reset the idle and decided to take it for a drive.
It started out great, shifting just fine. Then for some reason, about five minutes into the ride, my car started shifting really firm between 1-2 and 2-3 and O/D was gone.... This stayed like this for about 5 minutes until I stopped my car, restarted it. After resart, the problem continued. I did an easy acceleration from 1-2 and then stomped on it so it would go back down to 1 and see how it reacted. It reacted great, then went smoothly into 2...3....and then O/D...
I didn't have it happen again after that. I haven't had any problems previously, and last week I did a tranny flush/fill and replaced ATX fluid with AMSOIL and the car has been running great. :D

SO does this mean that my tranny is going bad, or could there have been some cpu/tranny issues if battery was completely dead? Again, I have had no other concern prior to this wieird occurance.

Chech your electrical connections to the trans, particularly the torque converter lock-up solenoid. rangerj

I can't give you any speculation about what might be happing inside or outside of your trans. But, I can tell you that when my trans failed, I lost OD and was having shifts like you. Then, I lost 3rd and got OD back. Then on the way to the tranny shop I had everything. So, could be nothing or could be tranny time.... ...you never know with these things..

Update:
It has been 4 days since the tranny deal occured. I have not had a single problem since. Hope it doesn't come back. The last thing I can afford to do is a tranny, as I just put a ton of cash into the car.

What does a tranny cost usually. I heard the Doug Lewis tranny is a smart thing to by as it has the trans-go shift kit etc. But I heard they are around 2grand. I suppose it is another grand to have it installed.

Starting to wonder if the SHO world is worth being a part of.
