RECENTLY I HAVE BEEN CHECKING THE FORUM OFTEN.
IT IS A USEFUL TOOL AND YOU ALL SHOULD THANKFUL.
AND WE ALL SEEM TO BE. BUT I MUST SAY TO THOSE OF YOU OUT THERE WHO HAVE MONEY TO BURN PLEASE DO NOT SCARE THE **** OUT OF THOSE WHO DON'T. WE DRIVE ONE OF THE MOST DURABLE CARS IN THE WORLD. THE TAURUS ITSELF IS A DECENT AND SAFE VEHICLE AND THE YAMAHA ENGINE IS NOT ONLY POWERFUL BUT RESILIANT.
RESPONSES TO CONCERNED OWNERS POSTS THAT READ."DONT DRIVE YOUR CAR" OR "SORRY ITS GOING TO DIE" ARE NOT REASONABLE AND FRANKLY RUDE.
UNLESS ITS A COMMON SENSE PROBLEM OR YOU HAVE THE INSIDE SCOOP TRY NOT TO SCARE THESE OWNERS.
KIDS IN COLLEGE, OR HIGHSCHOOL ,AND MOST SINGLE GUYS CANT AFFORD TO BE SCARED.
WE ALL WANT OUR SHOs TO BE PERFECT BUT SOMETIMES "A" TO "B" IS ALL SOME CAN AFFORD
SO UNLESS SOME "JOE SHMOE" ON THE STREET HEARS YOUR CAR AND WARNS YOU IT MIGHT BLOW UP JUST RELAX SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TAKE CARE OF HER. SHE WILL GET YOU HOME.
THANK YOU ALL AND BE SAFE

I told someone NOT TO DRIVE their SHO for s reason, if someone is told to do that, it is not to scare them, IT WILL SAVE THEM MONEY... I just swaped my engine with a new 3.2 because I drove when it was knocking, I spun the bearing, and damaged the crank as a cause of it... some one just postd they are having the knocking symptoms, so they can change their bearings before it damages the crank... I think since you are new here you dont realize why we say DONT drive... there are reasons for them...

Thanks SHO SPD, you took the words right out of my mouth. We don't tell these kids this stuff to try and scare them. We do it to make sure they take the proper steps and don't do like most ignorant people do (SHO SPD I'm not saying your ignorant) and not do a damn thing but ruin their only means of transportation. The sho is relativly expensive to own and operate so it behoves you to replace/maintain or do preventative maintenance verses spending thousands of dollars to repair the catastrophic damage that will result from a lack of common sense or unwillingness to listen to some intelligent advice. One or two days without your car is much better than several weeks while you're having the motor overhauled. Don't need to say what it will do to a kid/students pocket book.
Enough said!!!!

SORRY THERE BRO BUT IVE BEEN LOOKING AT THIS FORUM FOR 1 YEAR STRAIGHT FOR THE MOST PART AND IVE KNOWN ABOUT MY CAR(EVEN THOUGH I DIDNT ALWAYS OWN IT) SINCE IT CAME OFF THE LINE.
BUT YOU DO HAVE A POINT. EVEN I WOULD TELL SOMEONE TO NOT DRIVE A SHO IF I THOUGHT THERE WAS AN ENGINE REBUILD ON THE WAY, BUT I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE EDUCATED RESPONSES THATS ALL. I SAW A POST OF SOMEONE WHO HAD A COMMON PROBLEM AND NOTHING THREATENING TO THE LIFE OF THEM OR THEIR SHO AND A VERY COURSE RESPONSE TO IT. BUT THIS WASNT THE FIRST TIME SO I JUST WANTED TO NIP IT IN THE BUD.
PROBLEMS YOU DESCRIBED I WOULD HOPE PEOPLE WOULD TELL THAT PERSON NOT TO DRIVE IT. I WAS MORE REFFERING TO PROBLEMS THAT A 60K WOULD FIX IF ITS NOT TO FAR GONE,THATS ALL THE ONES THAT ONLY COST A FEW HUNDRED NOT A GRAND.
I DO THANK YOU FOR YOUR IMPUT.

im sorry for all the caps im writing from work and we do all our tch. work with caps on. its a pain to keep changing all the time. i knew i would catch heat for my post but even if i got shot down i had to throw it out there cause i felt bad for that kid who needed help on his car and plus im just starting out on my own and dont have lots of money so there is always that fear factor of a 4 wheeled time bomb with an expensive engine

We are all here to give you as well as each other the best advice we can. You also need to keep in mind that one mans clinking and banging may simply be anothers ticking or tapping. We do the best we can from what the diagnoser gives and we have to be conservative as we diagnose over the internet. The SHO is a very unique car and we as the owner/maintainer now more about our car then most seasoned mechanics. I one goal is two fold look out for our fellow SHO owners as well as the SHO itself. When they all die the sho will only be a memory.

It is also for safety. If your car goes out in the middle of an intersection or any place, there won't be enough means for you or others to react. Better safe than sorry, on both counts...
