ok, the options at this point are..

Kumho ecsta supra 712's in a W speed rating...

or Michelline Sport A/S's in a possible Y speed rating..

any opinions...? looking mostly for performance here, with noise as my second concern. but mostly performance and grip. anyone have any experience with either of these?

I would recommend staying away from the 712s. They don't have particularly good sidewall stiffness, have horrible cold traction, and get greasy fast when heated up.

712's blow they'll last probably 18k miles

Michelins are OK but i tend so see problems with rim leaks on Michelins (Corrosion Developing Between the Tire Bead and Rim ******)

IMHO, i kinda prefer dunlop sp sport 5000's [225/55r16] (they're Z rated)
they make excellent rain and dry traction
and are tolerable in snow

they lasted 40k on my old Trans Am

(im running goodyear assurance triple-treds on my Sho now, theyre only t rated though....but they were free)

I live in the Great White North and I'm on my second set of Michelin Pilot XGT V4 and never have problems with rim leaks.
The Pilot Sport A/S is well rated, especially for an all-season.
The tire shop I deal with will not give you lifetime tire balancing on Kuhmos because they seem to go out of round quickly. Something to think about.

I highly recommend the BFG G-Force KDWS in a 225/55ZR16. They wore extremely well and had a lot of grip. I was extremely impressed.
