1. I am trying to reassemble my shortblock, but without a helms I am a little in the dark. When I gap the CPS to .030, I gapped it from the flat rim of the timing belt sprocket. Is that the correct way?

2. Do I need to lubricate the surface between the oil pump and crank shaft?

3. If I can depress the timing chain tensioner with my finger, does that mean it is bad?

1. Yes.

2. I doubt it, but oil will be there anyways.

3. No, that means it is good, you want them to be able to move completely up and down, but still have a good force pushing up.
