Thinking about having a wastegate divider made.

I'm talking to a friend of mine who's an engineer and I asked him if it would be possible to make an insertable wastegate divider.
I'm not sure how much this might help our platform. What I'm looking for is someone who's headed for a dyno tune. So that some comparisons can be made with and without the divider in.
If Matt or Lee are willing to chime in and help out that would be great.
Understand no matter what I'm going to be having up here made up for myself.


The part would look something like this. This is just an approximation with the holes not in appropriate reference position. This would be waterjet cut.

Less turbulent exhaust flow out of the turbine housing into the downpipe. When the wastegate opens, bypassing the exhaust turbine. The flow from the wastegate disturbs the flow coming out of the turbine exit. This can cause back pressure. In operation the turbo is bypassing exhaust gases quite often when accelerating. Especially true when at full throttle. With less back pressure you end up with more efficient turbine operation and less of a pressure differential, plus less heating of the intake charge to overcome the back pressure. Or so the theory says. To be honest I'm not sure how effective this will be. The way the exhaust turbine and wastegate are placed on our turbo is different than earlier turbines housings. One of the things that's been found is this helps exhaust flow at high RPM.
My old supra I had a divorced downpipe on it. It seemed to help it quite a bit. But then again a different turbine wastegate setup. We have a bowl-shaped combined outlet, in the Supra had the earlier style offset integrated wastegate. I would imagine this was more of a problem with that style of turbo exhaust outlet.
BMW seem to have found value in using a redirecting fence beside its wastegate in a slightly different Turbo .
Note the BMW wastegate opens towards the turbine outlet and ours is opens 90° to that.
So I am assuming that using divider couldn't hurt. Mind you, a divider is not as effective as a full divorced downpipe.
It's minimal effort on my part to have this divider made up. So why not try it.

Remember back pressure is not your friend or at least that's what Garrett and turbonetics engineers expressed to me.
