I recently went up to the parts store to get a new thermostat for my 94 MTX, and was given a choice between two different temperatures: 192 or 180. OEM is 192, but I was puzzled, although there is only a 12 degree difference, which one is better? Seeing as how summer time is already here, I think it is pretty crucial to run your car at the right temp. in this weather (Scramento, California 100+ temps)
192 degrees:
Runs engine hotter, possibly better fuel economy? Engine functions better b/c it's OEM?
180:
Engines runs cooler, more circulation of coolant?? More/less power??
If anyone knows anything about this topic, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks to all!
