1)Ok, so my battery pretty much exploded in my car sooo there is acid everywhere. I plan on cleaning it tomorrow. But my problem is this. the new battery (correct part number) is rubbing on the belt tensioner which is no longer spinning and is white from acid.. SO my question is should i juts buy a battery relocation kit? Can i repair the pulley? Its also on the water pump pulley.
2)Damned a/c. Ok, so i jumped the pressure switch to fool the compressor to go on, and it worked. Except the fact that it wouldn't take a charge.. Could there be a clog? Where do i go from there?
3)Fuel pump.. Ok, so i have had this sputtering and bucking/backfiring thing going on lately and its driving me crazy. I read the codes and it gave me a 215(coil 1 failure) But its only under load between 2-4k.. no higher.. And it went away briefly after a seafoam treatment. I also hear this electrical whine from the back as i push the gas and as the revs drop and rise.. I put a new stereo in, could it be that, or the pump saying "peace out, don't miss me".

I think thats all for now.. Thanks for all the help.. I sure as **** need it.:omgsho:

1) If it was me I'd go with the battery relocate. Fact being easier to get to thing on that side if need to do work/fix something.

Get that battery acid cleaned ASAP!!! The longer that sits the more it's going to eat everything away, and make sure you clean the ever living **** out of everything or it will keep eating and cause more issues down the road.

Also as far as the battery relocation, push the battery away from the pulley and wedge some wood or something between it and the battery tray, all my mtx's had this problem and that's how I fixed it. But if you decide to go with a battery relocation kit (only adds weight to the car unless you're going absolute ultimate handling) make sure you use a sealed battery;)

I had this problem, but what happened to me is, the metal rod that holds the battery in place on its tray rusted out and just kinda fell apart. my battery slid into the pulley, ate up the battery and spilled acid everywhere. I didnt even so much as replace a belt, i have now when i did a 60k, but it went for another 15k or so with no problems, i think i might've put a hose on it for a second but thats it. I have a bungee cord holding my battery in place now, not the coolest lookin but its done the trick for a very long time.

I had a similar problem a couple yars ago, the tensioner pulley didn't touch the battery when I put the battery in, of course when I got on the throttle when the engine twisted the pulley came up a bit and ate a hole in the bottom corner of my battery. what a fcukin mess.

seems to me like either one of your plug wires is arcing or your coil pack is toast.

i dont know why you would see a failed coil code and think of the fuel pump?

take all your plug wires out and inspect the part that goes down into the valve cover (i wanted to call it a shaft but im not going to set myself up) see if any of them have a small black burn mark on them anywhere. if they do you need to replace your wires.

no need to move your battery to the trunk. you can find a new tray and hold down here on the forum for pennies on the dollar. This is coming from someone with the battery in their trunk.

I was thinking pump because its getting loud as ****.. I think i just had the wrong belt because i pulled the tensioner completely off and i had to pry the belt off.

Many parts stores have (had?) the wrong part number in their systems for that belt. You need one that's 1/2" longer.

I had the same problem with the pulley rubbing on a battery I bought and had installed from Sears.....Turns out most car batteries are designed to fit many different cars so most of them have the tab on the bottom of the battery to acommadate vehicles that use that bottom tab as the battery hold down.....You need to go to NAPA and get a battery. The NAPA brand does not have that tab......
