Does the SHO have a spark cut rev-limiter or a fuel cut rev-limiter like most cars? If it has a fuel cut rev-limiter has anyone run into problem while running a power-adder, particulary nitrous? Should one run a fuel pressure safety switch or something to protect against running against the rev-limiter?

i could not tell you for sure. but, i doubt that ford would let the car pump unlite fuel in the exhaust, so you could pretty safly say spark only limiters are out.

one thing i have been thinking about is to close the secondarys back up for use as a soft rev limiter (open at 4k and close back up at 6500 or whatever). that will cut power pretty quick and perhaps be easier on the enigne, or use it as a 1st stage before the programed rev limiter hits.

The SHO's 'rev-limiter' is a fuel cut-off... Therefore, if you hit the limiter while spraying nitrous, you WILL damage your motor.

Your best bet is to raise the limiter to 8500 rpm and shift at 7000 rpm.

That was kind of my thinking too.

I agree with the statement about running the rev limiter higher than you ever plan to run the motor (ie. ~8200). You can create some pretty spectacular fireworks with a fuel-cut type rev limiter and nitrous working together.

Well, since I am runing the stage II cams my TQ curve is a little higher than most. I would I deally shift ~ 7700 N/A. I heard with the N2O that # would become lower any way (guessing ~7200). So I was planning on setting my rev-limiter @ 8000 and wiring up a window switch to cut the N2O @ ~ 7800 RMP just incase all ish breaks loose. That way regardless of a stuck throtle or something I'm still covered. The $85 is worth my piece of mind.

Thanx for all the replies.

With no fuel going in, the nitrous won't even ignite. So it should just pass through the engine and not cause any damage when you hit the limiter.
