Thats the nice thing about the ecoboost, it will be used in other cars so the parts will be affordable and plentiful.

Pretty much. It's already confirmed to be in the MKS, MKT, and Flex, but those don't necessarily mean sales volume. It is, however, also supposed to be used in the Mustang and F-Series trucks, which implies that there will be plenty of them in production, which, in turn, bodes well for robust aftermarket support.

FWIW, not long ago, I saw a quote from a Ford VIP who said they expect the EcoBoost engines to be the vast majority of engines Ford produces (upwards of 70% or 80%, IIRC) once they get EcoBoost production up to speed.

The number I've seen thrown around in press releases and articles is 500,000 by 2011. Which is more SHOs than were sold from 89-99. Almost ten times as many in fact. I think there will be plenty of volume.

This more than likely means that Ford will start introducing more robust parts in the engine (*cough*forged rods*cough*) down the road, which can be swapped into the SHO for an easy power boost (or more power capacity, depending on how you look at it).

That has to include all EcoBoost production, not just SHOs. I don't think they'll sell 500,000 Tauruses in two model years, let alone a half million SHOs.

Correction to my above posted ratio... there were ~100K SHOs produced, I meant to say 5 times ***

Quite interesting and sounds promising, but so help me, if they made that beautiful interior unable to accomodate a 6 and a half footer comfortably,....I'm gonna **** something!!!!

All in all, to be perfectly honest, I'd rather spend the extra coin on the Caddie CTS-V.

There I said it out loud, Ford gurus!! :munch:

Oh, I think you are in the wrong Forum. I think you want Cadilac and Cotton Tops Forum. It down the road a bit, near the shuffle board park.

I heard something similiar from my sportbike buddies, when I bought my new Gold Wing. One trip through the twisties together and that ended the ribbing!!

I would think a little wolf in sheep's clothing, (a fellow SHO owner), would be able to recognize a bigger/badder wolf in sheep's clothing. ;) That Caddie is a really a Vette in disguise.

But hey, don't want to get off topic here, bro! The new SHO has some real appeal!!

It's been a while since I've been on here... but the return of the SHO meant I needed to check back in.

Thinking about joining the SHO ranks once again... maybe.

I do need to test drive one of these puppies though... I can't find them anywhere yet!
