On Saturday, I took a long trip up to Mark Nunnally's house for a little work on my baby. It took me 4 and a half hours to get to his house and that was averaging 80 mph. We replaced my rod bearings, valve adjustment, water pump, and water pump o-rings. I have 126,000 miles on my car and I figured that the bearings would be at least down to the copper (i guess i got scared or something). Well, the bearings showed just normal wear to them. They really didn't need replacing but I figured since i'm going up to college within 2 months, I might as well do them so i don't have to worry about them for a while. So anyone that is getting scared with all the posts lately about the rod bearings failing, calm urself and don't worry too much. 4 shims were out of spec for the valve adjustment. All of the work took us 11 hours to complete. I just wanted to thank Mark for everything that he did for me. He's a cool guy and he knows his stuff. Mark's wife also fed me some pizza which was damn good. I recommend him to anyone that needs work done on their SHO. Thanks again Mark. Here are three pictures of the bearings.
