I'm there. Last year I got burned out of the SORC because of the HEAT and sitting on bleachers for a good 2-3 hours. Plus on the ride back to N Platte my transmission temp got up to around 200 due to the amount of dust accumulated in the cooler and radiator.

But the parade is an awesome thing to watch, loud noisy road racing cars chugging along

Ok guys... I just got off of the phone with Joe and after doing some quick planning, I think I can make all of this work for me.

I get off of work Thursday the 7th at 330pm. The drive to North Platte, NE from KC is only 6 hours; 3 hours to Joe's place. So I could be at Joe's place by 630pm if i drive straight from work. When are you all planning on heading out to SORC Thursday evening? If its around 630pm, I could meet at Joe's place (or somewhere near by) and set up a car pool that way.

I will take off Friday, Saturday and Sunday from both jobs (just in case we decide to stay through to Sunday) and everything should be set. For those of you KC guys, I imagine you will be taking I-29 to Nebraska, right? If so, you all wanna set up a rally point to meet up at so we can convoy up there? Izzmo? Ryein?

I don't mind driving late at all, it we leave at about 8pm, that will put us in N. Platte at around 12, accounting for a few stops, and some more than legal speeds.:)

We just need to figure out how many rooms to reserve and where.

I won't be taking anything but the bare necessities out the, clothes, toothbrush and ALL my tools:nut:

Anyone have a Senior Citizen card for the hotel?:naughty:

Well, if 8pm is cool with everyone that would work better for me as I would really enjoy cleaning up before heading up there as I work outside in the heat all day long. :nut: Probably dont want to carpool with me unless I ride in the trunk. :snicker:

As for the hotel, I will let you all get that straightened out and if we book too many rooms, I will be happy to help cover the extra cost. Looks like this might turn out to be a bad ass NebSHO meet after all. I mean, ****... When LJRuddy shows up, there isnt much that can top that. Unless you manage to get Chuck Norris and Sean Connery to go heads up in a fight to the death grudge match. :oogle:

Oh, I didn't mention that did I? Chuck's my neighbor!

Rule #15-Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.

Rule #16-Chuck Norris can make a woman ****** by simply pointing at her and saying "booya".

Rule #25-One of the greatest cover-ups of the last century was the fact that ****** did not commit suicide in his bunker, but was in fact tea-bagged to death by Chuck Norris.

Super 8Hotel for 2 rooms, 4 people per room=$82.88/night
~$20 per person for two people per bed, or ~$40 per person for their own bed.

Motel 62 rooms, 2 people per room=$50.39/night
~$25 per person for one per bed
^^(sounds good to me)^^

note to self: Harbor freight tools are junk, but hurt just as bad as Snap-On or Mac tools.

Ok reservations are made at Motel 6, 2 rooms, 2 full beds each. $50+tax for each room.

Sounds like they've got plenty of rooms available for anyone else....

This is for SORC correcto? We are all going up thursday night? As long as we can make it back to the big "O" by monday morning so I can go to work then I have no problem tagging along.

LJRuddy: are you serious? You're going to let a kid that drives a Jeep(140hp at the wheels) Drive a SHO? Seriously

But truly, I drive like a G-ma. You know you won't be getting ANY tickets..:thankyou:

I'm surprised clay isn;t all over this :oogle:

50 a night for 2 nights? or three... Either way I'd like to go, but would prefer not to drive if thats okay. I can carpool with LJruddy if he was serious..:thumb:

EDIT: If nobody cares, I can sleep on the floor to further save money. I will help pay for food, gas or room for whoever lets me carpool. If the rooms are big, I can bring a sleeping bag :D

sleeping on motel room floors sucks. I don't think they bother putting padding down under the carpet so you're sleeping on the hardest surface imaginable. You'd probably be better off making a bed out of the chairs they put in the rooms...

$50 for a room with two fulls, it's $5 is another person is staying in the same room. And it states
Sleeping bags, cots or furniture of any kind may not be placed in a Motel 6 room by any guest.
And the $50 is for 1 night, we're coming back on Friday.

They don't have rooms with single beds, and the cheapest would be a single queen accessible room, which is $44.

I'm with NEp8ntballer, I'd rather sleep in the front seat of my car than on ANY floor.

It's not a big deal to take two cars at all, we'll figure out gas when we have to.

methinks we're going to need a very large cooler full of very cold beverages.

Just got my paycheck with a full 80 hours plus 23 hours of OT. I even changed my deductions for this pay check to 10 instead of the usual 1  . I got a nice chunk of change from Uncle Sam by doing that. And yea, I got Thursday evening through Sunday morning off of work. :thumb:
