Hey folks, I just got an e-mail from Josh over at SHO NUT, and he said he still has a few sets of the TCE Rear Knuckle Braces. He listed them in the "Performance" section of his website, so jump on it folks! At $75 a set, you better believe I bought some! Just some FYI...

Are knuckle braces for lifting the rear coils a bit giving the car a not so saggy look.
If this is so howe much do they lift the SHO?
Thanks Michael

Knuckle braces are for people that really push their car to the limits. The brace sits in between the two ears that the control arms attach to on the rear knuckles. This prevents the ears from collapsing.

If you don't have a lot of suspension mods, your money is best spent elsewhere, but if you do have a beefed suspension, you can't beat them for the price.

Has anybody ever broken a rear knuckle? Also what's the going rate for a pair of rear knuckles at the junkyard? Less than $75 I suspect.
The rear knuckle braces were developed in response to breakage seen on the Bondurant Driving School SHO's. Todd Cook was the shop manager there at the time.

Granted, rear knuckles are pretty inexpensive, but if you broke one at the track, I'd wager the collateral damage from the ensuing off-track excursion would extend far beyond needing to replace a knuckle...

On the street, you'd probaby have to curb the car to break a knuckle.

I just finished the rear suspension on my car. I have an H-Brace, BMR Arms and 29mm bar. Do I need to disasemble the whole knuckle again to get the braces on?

No sir. You just have to remove the 4 control arm to knuckle bolts. From there, you slide the brace in, and thread in the bolts Todd supplies you.

well if you go to www.prosuspenion.com/sho2.htm im not sure of the quality and such but you can get the same brace for $59. Just a thought for the people who dont have a high budget even though you save 15 $ so this post will probably disregarded.

Hey folks, I got my TCE Knuckle Braces installed today. Of course I didn't feel a difference in handling, and I wasn't expecting to, but I now have the piece of mind knowing that when I get a little wild around the corners, my rear knuckles will be able to handle the abuse. wink

I'm doing what is basically turning into a nut and bolt restoration on my 95 MTX so I probably won't find out till next spring.

Yes, they did fail on the track. No, they do NOT change the handling of the car. Yes, the damage is/was beyond the knucle alone and Yes, they are probably overpriced for what they are. But have someone ccpy a set for you 'one off', plate them, and get the botls and you'll be at better than $75 for about any fab shop.

I'm not complaining about the price, I know how much custom machine work costs, and just the time you spent designing these alone must've taken a while. I think the price is very fair. I think they're a great mod for agressively driven SHO's, and I'm glad I have the added comfort now. Great product Todd!
