I would like to get some of those SVT Cobra rims that some guys have on their SHO's. I have a few questions: Where did you guys get them from and about how much were they. Oh and I wont get 16's they would have to be 17's, would I have to do any fender trimming so they wouldn't rub. I would also like to get them in white I could...is this possible?

Do you want the "real" Cobra's in 17"x9" or replica 17"x7"?

The "real" Cobra Motorsport wheel is actually intended for the Tbird Super Coupe and is 17x7". Luckily it has the same bolt pattern and back spacing as the SHO. Any Ford dealer can order them from the Motorsports catalog. Price is negotiable--- I have them on my 93 SHO with no rubbing issues. The wheels come painted "argent" (silver). People have repainted them in various colors to match their cars. Shodown has his powder coated black.

Eddie those are not from Ford. The ONLY SVT wheel that will fit a Taurus is a SVT T-bird wheel and they only come in 17X7 and only in silver paint.

ALL OTHERS ARE AFTERMARKET

Plus a 9" wheel wont fit. my 7" are at the fender openings now and very close to the strut. *" would be the MAX and I bet that looks goofy, the wheel on any car should be inside the fender.

Is it a Gen III thing that 7" 38mm offset rims sit so close?

Because with my 18x8 i still have some room ffor more just as I did with the 19x9 i tried on and without them sticking out which is a fetish of mine, which is I hate it when wheels stick out from the fenders, my current ones are flush upfront and tucked in the rear. The biggest difference between my 18's and the 19's i tried was the offset which helped it get in more.

well with a 9" wheel you should be running on 255/45 ay a bare min. is your tire contact patch thinner than the rim?

245/45 are the best fitting tire for the 7" with a 235/45 having a 7" contact patch.

I've been looking for a set of wide 16's. And those Bullet style wheels look real nice. Good price too, 128 a piece in a 16x8. Any body want to photochop these wheels onto an SHO?

crazySHO88 email me some good side pics your SHO and the wheels and i'll photoshop them for you.

Kirk, with the 19x9's I tried they had 245/35/19 tires they fit the rim well and looked flush just like my 235's look with my 18x8's.

But would a 17x8.5 with a 36mm offset fit on a gen II? I'm sure it may need some trimming.
36mm is too much, 38mm is already pushing it in terms of it rubbing on the inner fenders.

SHOitoff95:
What is the widest/biggest wheel tire combo I could use.
You mean in terms of rims or just tires or both?

With the SHO's stock grand canyon front fender gap you easily fit 20"x9" rims with 245/35series tires, but overall a 245mm tire is pushing it, but done right with the right rims I dont see why 255mm wouldnt fit(at least upfront). Mostly every SHO owner on here is consertive when it comes to large rims so 18" are finally starting to be accepted instead of the +1 upgrade of 17" rims, it will all come down to how much you want to spend and what look you want.
