My fibertuff didnt last long either. Just 40k, most of which was just daily driver duty. It gripped damn well, and got grippier as it got hot, but similarly, it died without much warning. The friction material simply doesnt last

Your driving style probably saved it. I always hated feeling the shuttering that would come along with those clutches, so I would slip it pretty good. The shuttering was even more present in a 2800lb SHO. My full weight silver SHO was driven by both my mom and dad with that clutch when I was in Japan...so that didn't help. Altho, when it went in my silver SHO...my dad called me informing me "I just blew up your clutch racing a Mustang, The clutch let go and I broke the rod shifter and your radio when I shifted to third" (He broke the radio when the shifter let go in 3rd and his fist went straight in to the radio). I wasn't really mad at that point....but proud. =)

You can always tell when Mustang Cobras have been driven hard because the buttons on the ETAC's are smashed in from people punching them when they shift for 3rd.

But in an SHO thats even funnier :dribble:

Basically anything in a "stage 1" or better I believe.

The last clutch I installed on my own SHO was a South bend Rally stage 1.
Upgraded straps and rivets.

And I just installed a Clutchmasters Stage 1 on a customers car. Also has upgraded straps and rivets.

Straps are thicker than stock, and rivets are much larger. Basically eliminates the broken strap problem.

So you are saying you wouldn't have a problem with a stage 1 DxD shredding a strap in a highly modded N/A SHO? Good news.

Are you saying you broke a strap on it?

If so... please refer to one of my previous statements:

NO.

Haha, don't' read that wrong, I am very precise and accurate with my shifts, I rev match all my up shifts almost flawlessly and double clutch my down shifts 95% of the time.

Clutch wear is subjective mainly to the engine as I do my best to eliminate driver issues ;)
