Does anyone have the dimensions off a set of subframe bushings? I'm thinking about turning some down myself (or having a family member do it).

I can probably post the drawing and have someone fill in the blanks if they have a set.

They're easy to make, just make the top one the same thickness as a stock bushing, the "snout" the same diameter as the hole in the subframe, the outer diameter of the bushing about the same as a recall washer, and drill a hole down the middle.

I've got measurements, but I took those off a commercially produced set of bushings and don't think I should be sharing the info because of copyright/respect, sorry. I will say that there's not much to the design and I've made a few of my own sets fairly easily.

Hey I understand the copyright info stuff. And I appreciate the info on the other. I just figured there was someone else out there that was thinking the same thing as me. All I was getting at.

How bout this...

a 1 inch by 3 inch hockey puck fits the bill, outer measurements-wise. And, I tihnk, the hole in the subframe is about 57mm; make sure to measure it, though.

Remember, this car was cobbled together in the EARLY 80s...in Detroit. Hockeypucks were probably "Subframe bushing revision #1" ...long about 1983...It would have been the best use of them at the time.

It would be wise to engineer enough room between the components that they'll "squish" the ****** on the subframe. I would also put a rubber gasket between the subframe and the bushing and between the bushing and the body.

You've already used/stolen the design to make your own sets then...you probably should have left that out unless you bought the rights/received permission to make a couple sets from the manufacturer? Just curious but did they legally patent the design because there are quite a few venders out there that did make them.
Like the SFBs, I don't think anyone ownes true rights to the designs but thats my opinion.

make sure the uppers and lowers dont fit together to snug, or the day you have to pull them off they will be locked together. Put steel and aluminum together and the aluminum likes to corrode.

That's a good point. I kinda thought of that and didn't display measurments for the pocket because I think 7thou is a little on the tight side. It really doesn't matter if the pocket is a little loose. You just want to make sure the tower, as it's referred to, is a sorta snug fit in the hole on the subframe.

I already had the design on my own, but found a great deal on a set. I bought them more to confirm my design than to straight-out copy. Mine are different anyways. The "snout/tower" is shorter (no need for it to be so long) and the lower piece is shorter as well (no need for it to be 1"+ thick).

I assume you meant SFCs, and I agree on both counts. Didn't want to step on any toes, but it looks like measurements were posted in the past, so it's pretty much a public design anyways.
