My 2014 SHO with PP will make a strang noise under moderate acceleration, it sort of sounds like the noise that Chewbacca from Star Wars would make. I usually notice it when the engine is not quite up to normal temperature. I have considered taking it to the dealer but don't quite trust them to not abuse the car. I've seen other cars that they 'test drive' come back smelling of burnt clutches and brakes.

Can't say I'd know what the noise is, but as far as worrying about the dealership beating on the car, if you have a spare key you can program a MyKey that'll limit things like speed and max rpm (not so sure on the 2nd one). Pretty sure it was designed for parents giving their teens their car to borrow. In my 2013 non-PP I can do all this through the controls on the steering wheel and gauge cluster, but your owners manual would have all the info you need. Heres a link to more info on MyKey if its any use https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...can-drive-and-the-volume-of-his-or-her-music/

Funny story - I did just that - provided a valet - restricted speed fob.... they disconnected the battery and car fob back to normal. Told me they needed to test the system so they reset it.

Your symptoms sound somewhat familiar to the symptoms of a failing PTU. In my case I considered the noise to sound more like a dolphin chatter, but it was only when the car had been sitting for awhile prior, it would first made a noise after 30 seconds to a minute driving after a cold start, and it would only last for a minute or two and then be gone until after the car sat several hours. I tried several things to fix it until I finally replaced the PTU and took care of it.
