starts and then dies...

Sometimes when i start my car it will idle really low for like a second and then just die. This happens when the engine is hot, after i have driven it for awhile. this never happens on a cold engine. This happens more and freq. now. I have to start it and give throttle, then idle it at like 1rmp to get it into gear to keep it from stalling. After I get going it seems to run fine. What is causing this? Please help me!! Thanks guys.

I would check your codes, but sounds like a possible weak fuel pump. Also may be worth checking/changing the fuel filter.

Does your tach work? Could be sensors.

I would say that your IAB is on its way out. When you have to press the gas pedal to start it, that opens your IAB...if it is stuck shut, no air will get in for it to start.

When mine started going, it was a rare occurance until it became a normal thing. Autozone can also test your IAB if removed from your vehicle for free.

If it was your fuel pump, I would think you would have big problems when trying to give the car gas.
