Which fuel pump did you replace? Where are you testing fuel pressure at? Any codes? Why did the car get hot?

what year is your sho? lpfp, fpcm, or hpfp are usually suspect if the problem is only related to fuel pressure.

sometimes the cam follower breaks, or the fuel line to the hpfp leaks. much rarer statistically.

Best bet would be to make a post in that area of the forum. This is a 4th gen area and not likely to be read by the people who are more well versed in that generation of vehicle.

Sounds like maybe a CCRM issue. It controls the fuel pump as well as cooling fans. Codes would be very helpful. Move this to the GenI II section for more eyeballs

First make sure your fuel pump inertia cutoff switch hasn't been triggered. It's been a lot of years since I had my 1993, but I think the switch is accessed through a hole in left side trunk liner, above the left rear wheel well. If the switch isn't tripped you should check for voltage to and through the switch. But keep in mind that you'll only have power to the switch for about 1 second after the key is turned to the Run position as it tries to prime the fuel pump/fuel lines.

The power wire to the cutoff switch and from the switch to the fuel pump is Pink with a black tracer. The ground wire for the fuel pump is a black wire. The power source for the Pink/Black wire is via the fuel pump relay which is internal to the CCRM mentioned above by Luigisho.
