I'am about 90% sure my starter is gone on my 93 MTX. I've checked the battery cables and all seems to be fine. I was going to clean the starter up as suggested in the forum, but I can't even get it out! It looks a little banged up like someone tried to get it out before and had problems. Any advice on how to get this baby out?

you sure you have all the bolts out? if you have some carb cleaner though just get under the car and spray down the connections where the battery cables meet the starter. then you wont even have to remove it. if you have a buddy around you could always use a voltmeter to check if your starter is really getting power to it. errr....actually i should have asked first why do you think your starter is gone? let us know because maybe you dont really have to replace it.

I agree with black on black. Considering the simple mechanical skills one must have to remove the starter, determining that the starter is the problem may be a false assumption.

What are your non-start symptoms? Does your car crank when you turn the key and fails to fire up or is there no tach signal whatsoever? Will your car stall only to be fired up 2 minutes later?

Help us help you!
