How in the world could you get a warranty issue on a set of struts? Is it up to the opinion of the mechanic? It's most likely your tie rod ends and a lack of play doesn't mean they're not going bad.DavidT said:hmmm. I just did a brake job and I checked the wheels for any play (3 and 9, and 12 and 6)... got NONE.

Bingo! The reason why Im replacing mine!Mr Anonymous said:It's most likely your tie rod ends and a lack of play doesn't mean they're not going bad.
It's not the struts for sure, possibly the mount or bearing as mentioned, but it's almost always an outer tie rod end. The only time you'll get struts replaced under warranty is if they are leaking.
