hey guys just wondering who here has used south bend clutches
im thinking about using thier stock replacement clutch witch according to them has about 15% more holding power than a factory clutch my car has basic bolt ons y pipe, cat back, underdrive pulley, ported intake, tuned lpm, i get a great deal on them thru my work
or should i get the stage 1 clutch or am i just jerkin my ****** and buck up and deal with the stage 3 ??
id like something easy to drive so i can let my old lady drive it and not worry about her chattering it to death or killing it at every light
i dont think ill ever put a sticky tire on the car or take it to the track exept for maybe once or twice but the occasional street pull to shut up a ricer here and there
any input on there clutches and diffrent levels would be great

Stage 1 is more than enough for your level of mods. Rally series, IIRC?

I have a Stage 3 Southbend and I love it. It's super easy to drive. It does have an abrupt engagement. But, all clutches have a learning curve

I'm running a sb stage 3. So far I really like it. Engagement is a little bit more abrupt than stock, but I don't have a problem with chatter. I would recommend the south bend clutches. For your set up I would think a stage 1 would work fine.

I can't comment on SBCs for the SHO, but I have a Cummins diesel pushing over 400hp and 800tq and have a SBC to transmit the power to the drive train. It is of most excellent quality and I don't plan to ever buy a clutch from another manufacturer for my diesel.
