When I start up my SHO, i can hear a noise that goes up in pitch as I hit the accerator. The pitch gets higher as i go faster and when I let off the accerator, it goes down in pitch. What the heck is the noise?

It could be a number of things - power steering pump, timing belt tensioner, alternator, compressor. "Where" underhood does it sound like it's coming from? You might also post an audio file clip, which might help.
Is the car an ATX or MTX?

its coming from the pulley area. It goes up in pitch when i go faster.

And pitch for sounds produced by all the items above will go-up in pitch as rpm increases.
Open the hood, turn your head with one ear down toward the sound and move it around, right above the top of the area above the pullies. You will likely hear changes in the intensity and tone of the "sound". You should be able to get some indication as to whether the sound appears to be coming from forward or aft in the pulley area. You're looking to make generalized assumption about where you think it's coming from, so you can look for secondary indicators of what might be causing the noise.
The only almost full-proof way is to use a stethoscope.

more than likely its your alternator going out.......think i paid 120 or so for a new one from advance auto..........took about 30 min to have hte old one out and new one in

the alternator was just replaced not too long ago.

Take the belt off and check all the parts on the line that turn. See if any are un smooth to turn or have play in them.

is your belt loose????
i agree with Ishodu tho.....take off the belt (check the tension first tho) and make sure none of ur bearings or pulleys have gone out
