all over the site i see performance references to the Mark VIII MAF, whats the deal with it, it requires retuning, what does retuning mean????? what are the benefits of putting it in, does it do anything for a stock SHO????

No benefits for a stock SHO, the regular 55MM stocker is good up 300hp or so. Retuning means you will need to tweak the computer to make use of the bigger MAF or it will run like crap.

The only way to install one is with a Tweecer or a LPM properly tuned (chip)

It does very little by itself. In fact you could see a slight loss depending on the tune etc.. People are inferring that you need an aftermarket tune to take advantage of any potential gains with a Ford 80mm MAF. Gain vs loss has been argued over and over. I would say that unless you are planning a great deal of performance upgrades that swapping in an MAF from another car is not a great idea. That's been my personal experience anyway. I've tried almost every bolt on 'upgrade' out there and my car didn't get that much faster compared to all the $$ I sunk into it. Go FI or leave it alone.
