Well, I was installing a new set of Quick struts on my friends 89 SHO and ran into a headache. The pass. side rear pinch bolt snapped off about 1/8 th the way out, I've tried an easy out and that has gotten me nowhere. I did some searching on the forum and saw a few posts about drilling it out and running a grade 8 bolt and nut with a washer rather than the normal bolt. I'm wondering if anyone knows how that will hold up and if it'll be as strong as stock. My friend can be a spirited driver so the car gets put through it's paces occasionally. Any input or ideas are welcome.

That or drill it out and re-tap the knuckle like I did. Its a metric thread 12x1.75. took me about 45 minutes to drill it out.

That happened to me last summer I snapped the rear pinch bolt... I elected to take it to machine shop because need it to be drilled out true not off center and only cost me $10 for shop to extract it out and got me new pinch bolt(I cannot recall the number which it for front or rear but its either ak50 or ak52) it cost only like $2 each and I get to reuse the thread... peace of mind.
