I originaly posted this in the SHO Related Board, but not too many responses. I figured I'd ask here at the GenIII Headquarters! I was at a dealership today I saw a black GEN III SHO with 76,000miles on it for $7400. I have no idea what the cars sell for these days and didn't know if that was a fair price or not. If it isn't, what price should I try to talk them down to? It was at night when I stopped so I didn't get a chance to talk to anyone that worked there, but I am going to assume that the cams aren't welded. I own 2 cars already. I own a 1986 Mustang LX 5.0 with only 18,000 original miles and it still has the new car smell to it! That car is in storage, I also own a 94' SHO ATX. I am thinking about selling the Stang, I have been told that since milage on it is so low and the car is showroom condition that I could probably get $9000 out of it from a collector. I'm not sure that I should sell it though. I know I typed alot, but any advise you guys could give me on this situation would be appreciated!!!!

I would try and talk them down no matter what. you can use the cam issue if they bite, but from my limited experience most people will try and throw it back on you and act like "you're crazy, the engines not gonna fail , what are you talking about? " b/c they have no idea. I had that happen to me twice before I found this '98. higher miles than I wanted to go but the cams were already welded and I got it for 6k. I thought it was an even better deal at the time. now I am looking at new struts etc so that hurts me a bit, but its still a good deal IMHO.

so I would try and take em down to 6k, you never know how desperate they are to make a sale.

my 2 cents anyway

personally I wouldn't sell the 5.0 though

No but that 5.0 is definately a classic. Especially with that few miles. Keep that thing, get rid of the 94. There is no point in having a gen3 and an ATX gen2.

Thanks for the responses guys. Im stopping tomorrow to talk to them. I decided to keep the 5.0. Everyone I asked about selling it looked at me and told me that I was a ***** if I sold it. It is definately a classic, with only 18,000original miles on it. And saying that is is in showroom condition is almost an understatement!!!

Good choice keeping the Mustang.

I have a mint condition 84 with 58K original miles.....

Not many clean fox bodies left!

Good luck getting the Gen 3.
