Check the firing order also, the one listed in many of the manuals is wrong.

x2. There is a sticky up top that shows the correct firing order. You could just trace the wires and then switch them at the coil pack if needed. that way you dont have to pull the intake agian. you did plug in the IAB, correct?

Yes, the idle air bypass. It is located on the intake by the throttle body. I forgot to plug mine back in once and the car would hardly idle. It could just be a plug wire not completely seated on the plug or coil pack.

The car should not idle if the iac is good.If you unplug it the car should stall out.

Mine must have been bad of something. I thought it would idle, just REALLY low...like at about 600 rpms and almost dieing.

a SHO will pull very hard with nothing in front of the throttle body, including having the MAF and TPS unplugged.

Tonite i discovered i had the firing order incorrect. Fixed that issue, installed the accell coil and it drove much better, but idled rough and also sounded like it was backfiring thru the intake. Put the stock coil back on, idled much better, drove like crap! Drove the car 10 minutes to a friends house who has a scanner, progressively got worse. When i stopped to open the hood, something was glowing on the pass. side of the car....cat? Ran the scanner, came back with fuel pump circuit 2 fault, dis module faulty (brand new), coils 1&3 misfire, and a maf sensor low voltage signal. I have all the numbers, just left them home. Oh, the tach is still freaking out too. Im at a loss.

if the cat is glowing it's waaaaay too hot and you're likely running lean. did you remember to put the air line for the intake onto the fuel pressure regulator? did you replace the cam sensor?

Or running rich and dumping a lot of fuel into the cats. Which could be the case if you have plugs that aren't firing.

Do you have access to another stock coil?

Check the plugs and wiring for the DIS.

Going to properly reset computer later on today. Im told unplugging the scanner as its reading codes will accomplish this. I had the battery disconnected for 1/2 hour thinking that would do it. So ill rest that, change the coil and drop the y-pipe, and see if it makes a difference. Keep your fingers crossed!

Its finally fixed! Ended up being the dis module....the first thing i replaced! Thank to shotime1994 for the suggestion on swapping it. Thankfully advance auto parts swapped it out for me, plugged the new one in, reset the computer and it runs mint! Smooth acceleration throughout the rpm band, and not a flutter from the tach! So happy i can finally drive this thing. Next up is suspension, some serious creaking going on.
