Well, my 91 SHO died today. It was the weirdest thing, my dad drove it all day with no problems (except he complained that the radio reception was getting screwy at times and he had to fiddle with the antenna to get it to get reception). So I go to start it cause my friends car which was dead in my driveway at the time needed a jump start. Only thing is, car wont start!! So now I have 2 dead fords in my driveway!! I pulled the KOEO codes and heres what it came up with:
14:pIP circuit failure. Suspect PIP sensor or TFI module, or grounding or interference problems at the TFI module.

24:Air charge temperature (ACT) sensor out of self-test range.

95:Fuel pump secondary circuit failure.

So am I screwed or what?

I just went outside to try and start it again and I noticed that when you turn the key to on, before you crank it, the fuel pump doesnt come on. Yet the fuel pump shutoff doesnt seem to have been tripped cause the switch is still pushed in like normal. AAAAA!! Does this mean I need a new fuel pump?

Check your battery wires.

Are you getting any power inside the car ???

If not ... try charging the battery. If you know the battery is good or if you are getting juice to the car .... turn the key on (not acc.), leave the car in nuetral, and try jumping the solinoid on the fender. I belive the GEN I's had this option which was later changed to the starter after 6/91.

Hope this helps. ......

I got the 3ecant same codes when I forgot to bolt down the crossover intake tube. Since the DIS is mounted to the tube, the ground was very weak. The car would not run, and I got al lthe same codes.

Check your grounds, includeing the strap to the engine on the rear intake bracket!!

In the Ford system, the PIP (profile ignition pickup) is the crankshaft position sensor. Your conditions sound more like a low voltage condition to the entire electrical system. Check the battery and the connectors.

Hey man not good- i have those same codes- in my opinion i think the crankshaft sensor is going...also, about the fuel pump i had this same thing happen in my 94...it was a fuse in the main box- i had it cranking over and over but no go...finally after 2 days of thinking hard i thought to myself humm no fuel must be a fuse i checked under the hood and it was a broken fuse..put anew one in and i was racing again...so my advice check the fuses if not that than do a 60k tuneup with a crank sensor but i dont knwo y that would not let it start it should after 30 min...well goodluck let me know what u did cuz i might need to do it in the future..thanx

Dammit!! Theres WAY too many things this could be! Ugh, so far its looking like I'm gonna be getting a 60k done on it but that means hauling it up 2 and a half hours up to Madison, Wisconsin to Performance Plus. Ugh.
