We have a few extra sets in stock and ready to ship. As people in this thread would attest, these coilovers take a long time to manufacture, so if you want a set jump while you can.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this second group buy a reality.

Mike,

What are we looking at for a total cost on a set of GEN1 units with front camber plates?

Mike,

What are we looking at for a total cost on a set of GEN1 units with front camber plates?

Rounded numbers and a ballpark shipping estimate.

$1650 Coilovers
$300 Camber caster plates for the front
$100 Articulating spring mounts for the front
$75 Guess at shipping cost

$2125 including shipping

Let me know is you have any other questions.

Thanks

Mike

IMG 2405 Love love love these coilovers!

While they take a little work to set up, the ability to zero out any swaybar bind is nice. Be sure and tighten up your collars!

Once all set and tight, I spent the day at the 10-turn 1.8 mile Hallett Motor Racing Circuit (the track we will be using for the 2018 National SHO Convention in Tulsa). My previous best time in a street SHO was 1:40/1:41. That car had IPT coilovers, Hoosier race rubber, and a healthily modded 3.0 (trapped nearly 97mph).

My current street SHO has the SHOSource coilovers, Bridgestone Potenza RE730's, and a larger engine (25 more whp and TQ, traps 102). I dropped my time to 1:38.2! 2.5-3 seconds faster, on street tires!

Now I'm not attributing the better time to the coilovers (this car is a beast!) but the car handled amazing, was well composed during braking and cornering, while still compliant enough to allow me to attack the apex curbs with no fear of unsettling the car.

All in all, extremely pleased with the ride characteristics of these coilovers, both on the highway and at the track!

1) Thank you for the glowing review.

2) Do you have any suggestions to share with the group on sway bar sizes and what firmness you have the inserts sets F/R?

3) It goes without saying, but I will say it anyway, your car is awesome. Great picture.

I got the standard spring rates.

Full weight MTX SHO with 22/26 sways, GEN3SF, 17" wheels.

I started out right in the middle of firmness, 8-9 clicks. Great ride, great damping, no pogo. After 2 sessions I upped the front stiffness 2 clicks, and while I can't really say I felt a noticeable difference, I can say it still felt very composed, but perhaps more surefooted under braking. I'm doubtful most seat-of-the-pants would notice a change unless you were going from full soft to 1/3-1/2 through the range. 1-2 clicks is only 10% of the range.

So I now have tears at 8-9 clicks, front at 10-11 clicks (0-soft, 18-firm). And I love how it drives.

That is great! Thanks for the suggestions...I am excited to get them put on and feel what they feel like...mine is all stock at this moment so im sure the stiffer suspension will make my tires feel greasy because of them being normal street tires but next thing on the list is a wheel and tire package....I was running 17x7.5" Team Dynamics Motosport/ Nitto NT450's on my last car but i cant remember what size the tires were....Have you had any experience with Nitto tires? Thoughts?

This may have already been answered, but can anyone describe the ride stiffness of this setup vs stock?

IE) At the lowest settings does it seem close to or softer than a stock ride?

My comparison would be for the Gen3 SHO ride.

I’ve no idea how the G3 rides, but I’m assuming it’s softer than a G2. That said, these coilovers are the best balance of ride and handling of any suspension setup I’ve ever used, and I’ve used them all.

More firm than stock, but certainly bit uncomfortably so. You will not regret installing these.

So what’s the cost on a rebuild? I have one that snapped the adjuster
Jesse,

Send me an email to us at SHO Source and we can work out the details to get your insert repaired. We have never had to send coilover parts in for warranty work, but we can get the process going. We did get one extra front and rear insert just in case we needed one as a loaner during a rebuild.
