I am a new member here and want to let others know just how bad this company is. I recently placed a $1600. order with them, for a stage 2 setup for my 94 silver 5-speed SHO. Not only did it take f o r e v e r for the goods to arrive, I didn't drive more than 2000 miles and the water pump pulley snapped, leaving the ring attatched to the pump, and then the outer ring for the belt. Why did they go with a pulley with so many holes? It's billet anyway, so there's not much weight! On top of that, the Y-pipe did not fit that great, my exhaust guy told me he could have built it with better quality for only $200. Then, the oil pan plug didn't come with the pipe, so I had to take it down again so I could get the old plug out!!! Such a terrible design, and a terrible experience! I also put my car on the dyno, and the car is running outrageously lean. And last, but not least, it looked like a child ported the intake runners. How am I supposed to get better or smoother flow? As they say, buyer beware!

Hmm I have nothing but good experiences from the SHO Shop. I went down to buy strut mounts and springs. I also added an intake. They assembled the inkate for me there. They got me the mounts but they did not have the springs. They said that they would be in on Wednesday and this was on Monday. They did show up on Wednesday as promissed. I also was able to talk to the guy who answered the phones and he answered my questions, even the SHOGun. They put the whole subframe into the back. THey dont have a big warehouse infact it is small, but stocked. They were swamped with orders, so yeah it may take a little bit. Also the guy answering the phones had to deal with a customer whodidnt want to do the solution he suggested for the guys car. He wanted to fix everything but what was needed. No wonder they cant always answer the phone.
Sterling did you bother to see if they could refund or replace the parts? It would be worth it to find out at least once before ranting on them. Something like this happened to me with Speedhut and they did everything they could to make things better. They do make most of the SHO parts so you dont have to many places to go.

And do you have personal experience to back up that comment?? It's statements like this that help a topic get out of hand, and subsequently locked down. This topic has been beat to death in numerous threads, and frankly I'm sick of reading about it. If you're so unhappy with ShoShop's performance, go find someone else to do business with.

The only complaint I have with the SHO Shop is that they had been supposedly working on the a supercharger kit for the V8 SHO but after 3 years of promises it kind of quietly dissapeared. Very dissapointing considering I had placed a deposit with them for the engineering costs involved. I understand that many refunds of these deposits were very slow in being returned. I also know for a fact that several people were forced to take parts back in lieu of their cash. That would just flat **** me off to no end!
Lucky for all of us Brad Hogue at SHOFast was as interested in seeing a supercharger on a V8 as several others were and made it happen IN ONLY TWO MONTHS TIME! In the process of doing this he has found better suppliers and manufactures of parts for all the Generations of the SHO at better prices, not to mention also created parts not previously available.

The pulleys are a new design.I`ve heard of at least one other who has had his pulley snap in the same place.Call Tom,and have them send you out a new one with no holes.As for running lean,you didn`t give any reason that it was caused by SHO Shop.It seems to be a problem with your car,not related to their parts or service.Lastly,were your runners ported,or Extrude Honed?

with the pulley, I called, and they said they were sending out another one, didn't say whether it was solid or drilled. for the runners, they were the "hand ported" runners from the stage II package. And the car only started running lean once this package was bolted on. My dyno operator says many people have been having a problem with the chip and mass airflow sensor?

Hey SHODWN, you don't live to far from me. What kind of SHO do you drive? Maybe we could meet up sometime?

Well what can I say Carter.. Shofast can make it happen. We can build the fastest gen 3's alive. Shoshop was working on a kit for awhile and Vadim decided not to pursure it anymore. The whole name of the game is to make money and there just doesnt seem to be alot of it with the v8 crowd. Luckly I have came ahead on the blower project. I probally wouldnt have designed it if I didnt want one for my self. You also made it happen by donating me your car for 2 1/2 months. As far as the deposits . I actually took some of mine in parts so I could get it back sooner. And then I eventually got a check for the rest of it.
As well as other parts yes at SHOFAST I have found better manufacturers for alot of parts out there and improved where need be. I will continue to do this. As far as the SHOSHOP I normally just deal with TOM when I need to order something he seems to do the best job he can with the situations he has to deal with. BTW how do you like your blower setup???? Yours turned out pretty sweet hitting over 300 at the wheels. Just wait till you add the SHOFAST headers and y pipe..
Did you havea chance to run it in the 1/4 yet???

The base kit will be right around $ 4600 that includes everythign you need for 6psi of boost. If you want to go anymore boost yo uwill need to upgrade other componets. This is a very slick setup almost looks like it was meant to be on the car. LMK if you have any other questions.

okay,

i'm going to do something radical here. DEFEND THE SHO SHOP! OMG!

here's the deal, i think many of you think the sho shop is like some big mod shop, like edelbrock or greddy. well, this is very far from the truth.

they have a nice shop that i've been to and they've done the first 60K on my car. vadim and tom both have a lot of ideas and hopes, but not the cash to make them happen. if you want a turbo set up, fund it and they will make it. they can't just pull it out of their collective *****. they need money.

i will say that they probably get their biggest cash influx from the parts they sell. the parts CAN NOT be totally cheap as they CAN NOT fund the volume to buy enough units to lower the per unit price.

how many y-pipes have they sold, 2500? not a lot in the grand scheme of things. sure, it may look like they could sell the thing for $150, but unless you have a factory in china churning them out by the million, it's never going to be that cheap. all sho shop parts are basically custom hand fabricated pieces.

SHO fanatics make up a very small piece of the performance car pie. the sho shop may be the biggest modder of our cars, but in the grand scheme of tuners, they are the size of an ant! so, cut them a break. if you got screwed by tom or vadim and they didn't correct it, then that's one thing. BUT, if you are ******** that they never have the parts you want in stock or it takes too long to get you what you need, LAY OFF IT!

the only way they can make a profit off their parts is to get enough guaranteed purchases of a part and then do a group buy to have their outsourcer manufacture the pieces. they don't have enough money to buy 3000 ypipes and sit on them. nor can they have them made one at a time.

bottom line. when you think of the sho shop, don't think comptech, greddy, hks, etc., think of a bigger version of shawn's ipt business.

don't forget all that tom and vadim have done for us and the sho community as a whole. they love these friggen things as much, if not more, than us. and by the grief they get, believe me, the two of them wished they modded BMWs and not SHOs. much more money in that!

Another ShoShop happy customer: I just bought a used (3 year old) y-pipe from someone for $200. It looks excellent, nearly new, and all the welds, etc. are good. It also bolted on my car like it was made for it. So no complaints here.

LOL, no not that one. The y-pipe went on my '90. The '95 is still bone stock; the first thing it needs is a better suspension. All SLO stuff on it now. After all this time on the board, it seems there aren't many mods for the ATX that do much good, except wipe the tranny. I was hot for an LPM but now.........don't want any gas or turbo, think I will be content with an exhaust that has a little more growl. Even the y-pipe doesn't do too much for the 3.2, right? Except make the oil tough to change.......any suggestions?

Open up the exhaust a bit with some aftermarket setup. The y pipe really does help a bit, but the 80mm/chip setup has been an anomoly so far. I have a laptop tuner on the way and will see how it reacts to that. My suggestion is to go with suspension mods like I wish I had first off. They offer the biggest changes. Good luck!
