New owner of 13 Tuxedo Black PP here! Bought about 6 months ago. So far I love it. Been a great daily driving and blast to push hard when people wanna play at the stop lights! Done a handful of mods to the car to "make it mine" so to speak. Wife always says I can't leave things alone and she's right! Things done to car so far: plugs, k/n intake, 10" tablet over stereo, 3 bar map, livernois tune, MRT axle back exhaust and of course "It's SHO time" across the top of windshield in white. Not so much a sleeper anymore when you throw it in your face and louder exhaust! Haha. Last car was a Mazdaspeed3 which I had for 10 years, I figured I'd take a little more mature look at a sedan but still know I'll long for juvenile tendencies from time to time. Lots of likes from strangers about the car too is nice! Anyway, sorry so long....hope to be member for awhile...

Welcome. Pull the LMS junk tune out of your car. Numerous tuners are making more power and are safer.

Agreed. It is amazing how many customers LMS still manages to pull with all the problems they have had. Check around the forum. Read the horror stories. Then read on the many other tuners available. Unfortunately, to change tuners, you will need a different tuning device (SCT/HP/Cobb). Good news, with something like SCT you can get tunes from many different tuners.

Kinda funny you say that, I email reached out to LMS a few weeks ago. I was hitting rev limiter and banging hard shifts. I asked about any updates to the tune or options and NEVER HEARD BACK. Pretty disheartening. 2 days ago I put original map back in and went back to stock tune. Not sure where to go next. I hate to throw cash away and get a different tuner but feel sick to my stomach seeing the MyCalibrator device on my dash and Livernois Motorsports sticker still in back window.

Yeah, sorry for ******** on your parade. However, I take it personal what LMS has done to other owners (across different platforms) in the past and have personally spoken with Dan. There are hundred page threads with the exact problems you are describing. It has been known for years unfortunately. LMS seems to have completely abandoned the SHO platform now, so that is just another reason why they haven't responded. The beautiful thing about throwing away cash is.....you can always make more. I run a SCT Livewire TS+ with a variety of AJP Turbo tunes. They all work amazing, and I have been extremely happy for years. Just something to think about.

Thx for the tip. I'm probably gonna stay stock a minute until I get some maintenance items done. Just did RDU fluid, PTU fluid changing first of the month and looking at possibly lowering spings. The whole tune experience kinda leaves a bad taste. Feel like walking outside and tearing the decals out the windows. I was holding out for hope it wasn't a waste of money. I feel like 1 of 2 things happen when people see the stickers now....thats cool, or what a fool.... not a good feeling lol live n learn i guess.

What version of LMS' tune are you running? Like you, I didn't want to buy a new tuner and tune and LMS sent me an updated tune that seems to be fine. If I were starting fresh, I'd go with someone else, but I'm generally pleased with the tune they sent me.

I'd have to look on my pc and im away atm. I've done all the updates to the device and software periodically as they were available. Glad to hear you have no issues though. Fingers crossed for the future!

As far as cash, they print more everyday so its really the feeling of being taken that bugs me more I guess. I love the ride and community so far. Only regret is I should have joined a forum sooner and could have saved a headache or two. I saved a note and will look into your recommendations when I get ready to tune again, thx!

Their are many options on the forum without having to go the tuning route. Blacking out trim, lowering, upgrading stereo, changing shifter, etc. If you are decent with computers, I would suggest a Sync 3 upgrade. It is a fun project to piece together the parts that big companies are selling for $1k-1800. Then you can have Android Auto/Apple Car Play. In the process you get ForScan which leads to other programming mods. Then you can dive into CyanLabs and FMods. The bonus is after the initial investment for the Sync 3 ($250-300) and the OBD adapter, you can play around with a lot of things. I still find myself changing settings or trying new features. If you want more information on that, feel free to PM me.

There is a lot of maintenance like you said too. Along with those, there are some upgrades. Start looking around on the forum for things like the transmission cooler, oil cooler, etc. A lot of these are derived from FoMoCo parts. They can add longevity and reliability to your ride in the future. Especially with the plans to tune again some day.

Thx for the info, I was thinking of upgrading to sync 3 at some point but the tablet will suffice for now. On a side note, I build custom gaming pcs and run rcs in spare time. Those things always need repairs so pretty decent with electronics and soldering if need be haha.

Welcome to the forum! There is a National SHO Convention in Nashville this July, would love to see more ECOBoost SHO’s in attendance.

Thx! The wife was saying she wanted to go back to Nashville this summer for a small vacation. In the back of my mind I was thinking of the convention as she likes car shows too...

Welcome to the land of SHO! The cars are really great, especially, like you said: When you make them yours! They respond so well to light mods :)
So, I used to laugh at @bpd1151 because he bashes LMS so beautifully (you'll see). Who's laughing now? I had rev limiting bangs shifts just like you described and followed that up with low compression on cylinder one and a parked car with a "it's not out tune response" Well, kind of ironic I'm not the only with one with the same setup here. Is it related? We'll never know and I'm not going to find out again.
So, listen to what is said here. Get a LiveWire TS series and a new tune. As of right now I also am strongly recommending AJP and I think unleashed is out there too.
Here is some more info that may be helpful. I think there are folks still running with them and are okay but do your research: LMS issues thread
You set the car up right and you'll forget about the hot hatches real quick (that's what happened to me coming from a long list of boosted SVT focus's).
Sorry for the novel. Welcome to the forum!

Thx for the input! I know I said I was gonna wait on a new tune for a bit but that last about 20 mins before I was researching other tuners! I'm sure it'll happen this spring after a few maintenance/mods. Speaking of, I just had dealership change RDU fluid but they refused to do PTU. I'm doing it next weekend, any recommendations? Was thinking this:

I kinda fell into the SHO. Always admired them from afar but never saw myself in one. I live in mid Michigan and drove down to mid Ohio to test drive/most likely buy a Focus RS. When I was 5 mins from there I got email saying car I was interested in was sold. I called and confirmed they sold it yesterday! This is after talking all week to them making sure they hold it for me. I was ****** and just made a big scene when I got there. They actually tried to sell me another car and that wasn't happening! Long story short, I bought the SHO 2 weeks later about 10 miles from my house! Its was a crazy couple weeks.
