The previous owner put some lame coilovers on the car, and those were replaced after one bent and dug into my tire’s sidewall. Since then I put Monroe struts in to bring it back to the stock ride height (can’t remember if those were the cheap ones or middle ground) but since the struts have been in the car will shake/vibrate pretty harsh when I accelerate in 1st or 2nd gear. My service manual says it could be irregular ride height but if so why wouldn’t it happen in every gear?

iirc monroes are meant for the SLOs not the SHOs, and so raise the car higher than they should. still should not have shaking issues.

are the tires and wheels confirmed good? what springs did you use?

Tires and wheels should be good, I put aftermarket 17x7 wheels on them but it was going that with my stock slicer rims too. The springs are just the Monroe ones, since I bought the whole assembly all put together. I actually remember not knowing if those were for SHO’s or not but my options were limited so I prayed

properly installed and aligned, i dont think you should get such issues. i had occasion to use monroes on our 92 when i didnt know better lol but retained oem springs. aside from increased height and poorer general handling, i did not experience anything untoward. i would revisit the install, as well as other suspension bits including strut rods to make sure they all look ok. i am sure if a coilover got to the point you said, it could have damaged other parts of the suspension.

of course, an alignment check may be the first and easiest diagnostic.

Know any good struts/springs to run? I was thinking about swapping the springs with eibach springs but I’ve never done that before and I’d like to keep myself in one piece. I also don’t know if those would even fit on the Monroe strut lol

Have you tried to power brake the car to see if the shaking might be from a misfire? Or checked for pending misfire diagnostic codes? If you have a good enough scan tool you should be able to monitor misfire counts real-time in the datastream mode.

I have Eibach/Monroes on one of my cars, it might be tough finding a set though. So you swapped out all four locations with the quikstruts

All Quickstrut assemblies are designed for the SLO with softer springs, not the SHO. So your car will wallow a bit. The front springs are now 155 lb. / in. instead of 200, and the rears 100 instead of 130:

I wouldn’t doubt if it was that, the car’s desperate for an alignment judging by my weird tire wear.

But wouldn’t that mean I would have to have a check engine light to scan it? I just have a cheap-ish scanner lol

only upgrades i made were to the gen 3 subframe/bushings to get rid of the annoying strut rods. helped improve handling significantly.
