Napa wants $10 a peice for rod bearings, $116 for the mains. Manufacturer- clevite

On the other hand, ive got Advanced auto parts @ 2.89 per rod bearing, and $31.89 for the mains. man. - sealed power.

My question is will the cheaper stuff hold up? Im definitly going with cheaper mains (they dont see much ware anyway). The rods are what im worried about. Anyone used "sealed Power" bearings before? A lotta times Napa will have the same exact part, only 5000 times more expensive. thoughts, comments?

Yes, Sealed Power makes good products. GM uses them in many OEM applications. I would say they're fairly comprable to the Clevite bearings.

Those NAPA-provided Clevite bearings are 30% more precious in NY. Aren't you lucky?

$8.10 at the Napa in Fort Worth. It goes up everytime you call.

That price seems pretty cheap, I'd double check that it's not the Vulcan 3.0.

I just checked the Advance/Checker/Kragen website - the only rod bearing they have listed as a SHO application is the Clevite CB1435P, $9.99 each, and MS1773P for the mains at $110.99.

I think those sealed power bearings are Vulcan or Essex bearings.

There are a wide range of prices for these bearings from store to store. Shop around but, for rod bearings, a few bucks is really not a big deal.
