I took out my air silencer yesterday and it felt like my car came alive. I didn't know it was such a restriction.

Yes, Eric is totally on target. Bringing in cold air without restrictors really helps things. I also suggest that rather than using any abs solid parts for the tubing, just using 4" truck radiator hose. That way you get a better fit to the entry into the inner wheel well and also avoid anything that makes noise bouncing about or rubbing.
