Ha, im trying to put my roomate into a SHO, as i have 2 of them. We stopped at a local little dealership on Nacodoches road (san antonio) and were checking out this sweet lookin 89. We turned it on and heard a little knocking sound coming from the engine so we were a little concerned. the owner came out and tried to talk us into buying it saying it was just a normal sound these engines make. Then he said " oh yeh this is the same engine they use in the saleen mustangs".... lol... we just turned around and left

I got one of the first Saleen SHO's made. It's number 007. Way faster than the regular SHO, even faster than a 91 Plus. At 155 the speed limiter shuts it off. They say it's because at 160+ the tranny fluid will catch on fire from all the friction. The computer is sealed so you can't put a chip in it to eliminate the speed limiter. It has active suspension that lowers it at high speeds so it doesn't need a spoiler. It cost $5000 more than the regular SHO, it was worth every dollar too. That new Saleen S7 has some SHO parts in it they say.

My Saleen SHO is number 026. I love the four wheel steering and four wheel drive on mine.

I'm not a big fan of the clutchless 6 speed tranny though.

Mine is 069. You know the later ones came with an electric turbocharger pushing like...9lbs of boost. I've got it adjusted to 16 though. this bad boy screams!.
