RPM Band

My car goes throught the rpm band about half as fast as it should. Does anyone know what can cause this to behave like this and have slow acceleration. It wants to die sometimes when i try to drive off low rpms.

How long since your last 60k. How good and what brand are your wires and plugs? Are you sure the wires are all down tight? My friends 92 needs a 60k and right now one and sometimes two of his plug wires pop off of the plugs. Makes it hard to drive in low rpms and feel pretty slow. (Although he did beat a 02 grand prix in that condition) It's possible you could maybe use a new tps.

Low power output? Too high a gear selection? You didn't give us much to go on. Has the CHECK ENGINE light come on lately? Have you checked the codes from the EEC? How many miles on the car? Has the required maintenance been performed? Has any work been done lately? Did the car run stronger before? Did you buy it like this?

Give us a clue. We're not omniscient.
