I was jsut curious as to weather or not anyone has had a problem with their rod caps comming loose after a bearing replacement? I have torqued them to spec in the two steps as recomended. but if I recall I didn't clean the rod bolts off with and solvent to remove all the oil and resedue in the threads. I know it is a good idea to use something like rubbing alcohol to get all the crap off them so that the TQ specs are correct. Might this cause a problem with my rod caps in the future??

Rest easy. The two stage torqueing is sufficient to accomplish the designed bolt load.
