with the looks of the bearings one would expect a bearing to spin but only one bearing was loose in its register, the new bearing fit correctly and had proper journal to bearing clearence.
ya the bearings look bad but the oil did its job in keeping the crank from any damage, after all the bearings are supposed to absorb the damage and not the crank, and its obvious thats what has happened.

AFAIK, the original owner was Greg Raciti, and the forum was sold to Beth McCormack. I didn't know Scott Patterson had any financial ownership of the Forum at any time. Donations perhaps, certainly a lot of his time & knowledge, but I don't think he was ever an "owner".
