replacing cruise control switch

well was driving home tonight and the darn thing just fell off wont go back in seem like there is a little chip on one end so how hard is this to replace i ordered a new button does it just pop in and lock or is there a special way to put it in dont want to break the new one by the way it is the Resume/Set/Coast one
