As a "machanic" myself, can tell you, shit sucks. Price of parts, quality of parts and being able to just get some parts is stupid. And, honestly, Ford, Chevy, Toyota, manufactures in general, don't want you working on stuff. They have made it so complicated to meet EPA and Safety rules that they don't want you mucking around and messing it up lol. Like thats going to stop us. **** they are trying to come after "us" the end user for modding our stuff now.
My point being, in the end its not just the dealership, it's all of the above.

just throwing this out there since there are a lot of topics floating around this thread, in forscan there is a way to calibrate your rear camera, could be linked to the parking assist (i lost my parking assist when my camera started going out). since the two work together it could be worth a try, I cant imagine calibrating a camera will affect your tune and my understanding is forscan wont mess with a tune by just plugging in, only if you start digging in places the tune is written. and since that cam calibration isnt something every shop would know about or have the ability to do might be a good place to start.

Ive been dumping money into mine every month, way more than I would normally put up with, these cars are intoxicating. had a fender bender driving my wifes car while waiting for parts for my SHO. now her car is in the shop and the SHO is fixed...guess who is driving the rental Altima..... I MISS MY CAR
