I have to replace my bad water pump. Is it necessary to replace the CPS and timing belt while doing this? I just did both of them on my 60k about 2 months ago. (didn't replace the water pump, because the guy doing my service didn't think it was the correct pump cuss ).

Anyway, what do you think? Remember I'm on a budget here :p

Probably not. If the belt got soaked with coolant, I'd consider it.

The CPS, nope, unless you were experiencing symptoms that point to it.

I'd remove the belt and at least cover the CPS to protect them from the coolant that flows out after the pump is removed. The CPS is a sealed device and should be cleanable with compressed air. Check the cleanliness of the inside of the crankshaft pulley's sensor ring. I believe that leaking coolant allows debris to build up inside this ring and cause clearance problems with the CPS.

Reinstalling the belt will give you a re-tensioned belt if you have a 3.0L.

Does the timing belt have to come off when replacing the water pump? cuz I have to have mine(water pump) replaced and if that's the case, I might as well have the timing belt done as well.

When you remove the water pump coolant will get on the belt. Coolant on the belt means the belt should be replaced. Of course you could always go to the considerable trouble of replacing the coolant with water then replace the water pump, then replace the water with coolant. But I would just put a new timing belt on there instead. Belts are cheap and that's a good time to replace them. Get the Gates T248 belt to save a bunch of money. Something like $35-40 from rockauto.com.
