ok i was lookin under the hood today and found somethin out of the ordinary i thought... what is the silver box located under the intake arm(between the tb and airbox) with a long plug coming from it. I have an ATX. . . and it wasnt plugged in.... i looked quickly thru my chiltons.... ill look again but ill hope to hear from someone... if someone has a engine bay pic of a atx ill point it out better.

it had a few pins corroded and when i plugged it back in it smoked like crazy for a few seconds then i unplugged it. Now i cant get the tranny out of "P" before this happend when it was unplugged i could atleast shift thru the gears but it wouldnt shift out of 1st. (Atx) :bonk:

Maybe losing the horn with that harness unhooked is a 93 ATX thing, I'm still at a loss as to how that large amount of brake fluid found its way in to short out my coupler in the first place, its a good 6-8 inches away from the resevoir and my brake fluid is at the max-line were it always has been.? I'm kind of just writing it off as another case of the crazy sho gremlins at work.

Check your clockspring guys. The clockspring is behind the air bag and provides the connection for the Cruise Control, Horn, and one other thing I cannot recall at the moment. Oh yeh, it is the air bag. So, If you are going to do any testing it would be wise to disable the air bag as a safety precaution.

If two of the three items that are supplied current through the clockspring do nopt work, e.g. the horn and the cruise control, then the clockspring is the prime suspect. rangerj
WARNING WARNING WARNING!
AGAIN, DISABLE THE AIRBAG.
