couple weeks ago i had the rear subframe bushings done on my 1992 mtx SHO with aluminum bushings and new bolts on. i was wondering if there is anyway to replace the front nuts mounted in the frame. which hold the bolts of the front subframe bushings ??? shrug and doing that is it easy same as the rear ones i did.

thanks

if you didnt have the 4 10mm nuts to remove from the rear SFBs, then your vehicle had the SFB recall done on it by the PO. for the fronts, just loosen the bolt, raise the vehicle safely, use a 10mm wrench to remove the 4 nuts, then install the AL SFBs. its very easy.

If you get another set of the recall kit bolts and nuts you can use these as replacements. Not an easy job though. On the inside of each subframe there are some small holes to get new nuts in. If the old ones are broke loose then you can fish them out with a magnet.

Once out just put the new ones in and get the bolts started. They should grab hold with their little ears and let you tighten them up.
